Professor George Hanna is Professor of Surgery and head of the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. He leads a world-class research programme focused on the development of non-invasive diagnostic tests using volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in breath and urine.
His research programme spans from fundamental science through to clinical application and commercialisation, with the aim of developing simple, rapid and affordable diagnostic tests that can be used in primary care settings worldwide.
Professor Hanna has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and has received numerous prestigious awards for his research, including grants from the Medical Research Council, National Institute for Health Research, and Cancer Research UK.
