The Hanna Group is based in the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London, Hammersmith Campus. We are a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, scientists, engineers and data scientists working together to develop non-invasive diagnostic tests for early cancer detection.

We welcome applications from prospective PhD students with a strong academic background in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, data science or a related discipline. Funded studentships are advertised through Imperial College London and external bodies including the MRC, BBSRC and EPSRC.
Any students interested in pursuing postgraduate research in our group should contact Professor Hanna directly; all prospective applicants should have or expect to obtain a 1st class honours degree (or equivalent) in Biomedical Science, chemistry, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline; we welcome students who are able to obtain independent funding for their studies.
We welcome informal enquiries from potential postdoctoral fellows with outstanding research track records who are prepared to apply for independent research funding, for example from the European Union, HFSP, etc. Full assistance will be given in preparing a competitive research proposal.
